My Story

  
Kathryn Clements is one of Australia’s finest exponents of traditional Irish song. She has toured Ireland extensively and returns to Melbourne with her latest show: “SONGS OF IRELAND : A MARY BLACK TRIBUTE an intimate weaving of Irish music, song and story which will transport you to the very heart of an Irish pub.

Kathryn has a depth of experience teaching Traditional Irish singing in workshops at Port Fairy Folk Festival; National Folk Festival and National Celtic Folk Festival and she is a past Recipient of the Lis Johnson Memorial Award at the National Folk Festival. 
  
Kathryn has also taught Traditional Irish Singing at the Council of Adult Education and has been part of the Melbourne Arts Festival. Kathryn is also a speech pathologist with over 30 years experience and is able to incorporate this vocal knowledge and experience into her classes.
Kathryn’s haunting voice will move you to tears as she unfolds her beautiful stories and songs from the Irish tradition. However it is her capacity to engage with and entice her audiences, to open their hearts to all that the beauty of song can offer, that has people coming back asking for more! 
 
Kathryn Clements has “the voice of an angel’ (Phillip Adams, Radio National). Kathryn’s beautiful voice, singing traditional (often unaccompanied) and contemporary songs, will take you to the very heart of this ancient song tradition. She is joined by her band ‘The Peat Fires’.

SONGS OF HOPE AND HAVEN is Kathryn's latest recording.. it contains 7 songs written and composed by Kathryn ... her first foray as a singer-songwriter which has been warmly acclaimed by artists and audiences far and wide : Michael Leunig; Archie Roach; Asylum Seeker Resource Center; Refugee Action Collective etc. Kathryn will be launching her album early in 2018 so stay tuned for dates and times
